Three musicians relief
The three musicians was started shortly before Madigan left Eden Hills, in the late 1960s. The wood is English Lime, and is one of 2 pieces from trees felled near the Adelaide Zoo, with the other piece used for the Eingana relief. She continued working on it occasionally in Balmain, but it was only finally completed in Yass. It depicts her three daughters: Mnemosyne on recorder at the bottom, Alice on harp in the middle and Celia on violin at the top. During the Eden Hills years there was much music-making at home, with the family of five each paying a different member of the recorder family (with Rosemary on bass recorder). The family provided the music for the local small church services for some years.
